I know you guys have seen a bunch of pics already, so i wont post too many, i'll just add in a few bits of info from other posts. Nothing really happened on monday, me and pat detailed the cars for an hour or two since we were bored. The opening ceremony/banquet thing was monday night, and our table made the best of it by having some camera wars :) We were by far the most immature people there, it was great. After uploading my pics just now, i can honestly say that more than half the pics i have are of things like this: lol....
Tuesday: Detail Day. We spent the day on the roof of the parking garage detailing cars all day long. The weather began to warm up this day, and it was perfect for the rest of the week. Bernie and Sara decided to do the poker run through new hampshire, and that too was a lot of fun apparently. I'll let him fill in any info from that. Otherwise, it was 7 hours of detailing for me, pat and sean.

Later that night we met up with BigT(erribledirectiongiver)Dogg, DaveN, Hot90tt, Maximamike, and Cap...<--cant remember carlos' screen name) at F1 Boston. This place was tits. We had such a great time here. I dont have any pics b/c i left my camera at the hotel, but i know we do have pics and video of me kicking ass here :) I was the quiet one while Tony and Spencer talked all their smack, than i gracefully entered the track and was the fastest driver on both races :) Doing F1 definitely psyched us all up for the track day on thursday, but first we had to take car of business at the show on wednesday at the armory. As much as i enjoy doing car shows, i dont think i'll take any more seriously after this one. I'm not gonna bitch and complain, but i am going to give my point of view on this whole thing. First off, 9 judges did not show up, so they had to take 9 people who were entered in the show to fill in the empty spots. Thats fine by me, as long as they were not judging their own classes, and had previous experience, which im not so sure any of them did. The judging was VERY inconsistent. My hood was lowered, trunk lowered etc, to check for body lines and such, and i know that pats, and seans were not. They checked seans undercarriage, not mine or pats. (btw, we were going by winter rules, which means undercarriages, wheel wells, and light dust was not to be judged.) I am a firm believer that as long as you know someone, you will place in a show. Otherwise, you might as well stay home. WHen my class (nissan modified) was being judged, the guy w/ the green smz (who did win) was having casual conversation w/ the 2 judges he know, personally, and quite well apparently. I knew right there i was not going to win my class, and i was right. Hell, i didnt even get 2nd, but cant comment on my loss since i did not see the car that took 2nd. I can compare to the smz though, and i know it was close. I can honestly say i had him beat in exterior (i only lost 1 pt for missaligned hood/lights) Interior and engine was close between us. But again, the judges felt he had the cleaner car. Fine. This is where i have the problem. Ultra modified class. As some of you know, some guy chris w/ a silver na literally complained and threw a hissy fit until his car was allowed in to the gold cup review. (he had 279 pts originally, 280 was cut line) Now, i want to know how he does not place in the top 3 in ultra modified, get in to the review, than win gold cup! His car was 1 of the 2 biggest pieces of shit i've ever seen. it sickens me to think about it. And its too much disgust to attempt to explain it in a post. But know that he DID NOT DESERVE THAT AWARD. He took pats gold cup the way i see it. The other (yes, other. there was no gold medalion winner, but 2 gc winners) gold cup went to a flawless cinnamon red 240(?) z. Although, i did find dirt on his alternator and strut tower :oP All in all it was a well put together show, where we had plenty of room to open the car up, and not be on top of one another. If i show again next year in LA, i will only bring some quick detailer and a vacuum. btw, the show will be at nissan headquarters on that saturday next year. Thursday, Track Day....Owned all things ever!!! This was a blast. We had a free lapping day and got in 5, 15 minute sessions. Me and spencer quickly bumped ourselves up to the intermediate group after wasting the first session in novice. intermediate was much better for me as i didn't get stuck behind too many people, and when i did, they had enough sense to wave me by. Something beginners need to learn. As you know, spencer did spin out into the infield grass, but both him and car are fine. I spun as well in turn 3 which was the hardest turn in the course. Its a hairpin right turn after a nice straight. This was my 3rd session in, and by this point pretty much had the course nailed. I kept pushing harder and harder through the course, trying to take each section faster, and i found the breaking point on turn 3. Luckily, i had a large lead on the closest car behind me, so i was able to control my 1/2 spin and get it off the course before any upcoming cars were affected. Pat was lucky enough to be in the car that time :) He'll tell you his experience riding along im sure. Some big brakes are definitely in line now :) More suspension goodies will be coming in too i think :D
Steve Millen (center in pic) also came over to our tent to hang out and talk for a little while. He is a very cool guy .....
Friday was another boring day, where we just kinda hung around waiting for the closing ceremonies. I did get a chance to check out bernies NPROBE which is another awesome product from 300degree. Very well laid out. Im looking forward to getting one for myself in the near future. Closing ceremonies brought another camera war :)
I obviously did not get an award for nissan modified, but i did recieve 2nd for the "wish it was mine" category, which was similar to a peoples choice i suppose. Bernie got 2nd for street modified, Carlos got 3rd in ultra modified, Pat got 2nd in Ultra modified and Tony got 2nd (i think) in daily driver. Today's trip home was long with lots of traffic. Spencer was nice enough to rear end my car in traffic today, so that was nice of him. Pat nearly backed into a mini van. And i got a chance to play with a nice yellow viper for about 2 miles before he got off at his exit. This was an unreal week. I had such a great time with everyone, and laughed soooo much this week, its a shame it had to end. I know i look forward to hopefully having the chance to make it out to cali next year (especially the track day at willow springs).

For instance, if Pac-man affected kids born in the eighties, we should by now have a bunch of teenagers who run around in darkened rooms and eat pills while listening to monotonous electronic music. |
